We have some good news to share with you. As we were searching for a way to set 10,000 Tons of Black Ink apart from other online journals that also offer an annual best-of print edition, we came up with an idea that as far as we know nobody else is doing… although there are different variations to the new publishing format we’ve adopted. We changed our publishing guidelines so that before an accepted story is posted, the author will be asked to select another published piece on the site and write a short statement about the writing, noting in what ways it might be provocative, insightful, interesting or impressive. The writer’s comment will appear with an Editor’s Note as to why the piece was chosen. In this way, 10,000 Tons of Black Ink strives to promote dialogue between writers, editors and readers and to support the writing community as a whole.
We hope you share our enthusiasm for this new structure and will continue to tell your writing friends about 10K TOBI and also consider submitting your own work. Our reading period is Mar 15 - Sept 15, so there's still plenty of time!
We look forward to reading your work. Happy writing!
